Steve Morgan Foundation Funding

Vauxhall Law Centre, who have provided legal advice for the people of Liverpool since 1973, have secured new funding from the Steve Morgan Foundation to support their vital service to the community. The three-year grant totalling £55,000 will be used to secure the Centre’s debt advice work.

As well as helping people with free debt advice and debt management, the Law Centre also assists in bringing additional benefits to sick, disabled and vulnerable people in the community. In the last financial year, this amounted to almost £1,000,000.

The award was marked by a cheque presentation attended by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Malcolm Kennedy. The Mayor also gave certificates to students who have volunteered their services to the Law Centre.

Vincent Fairclough, Trustee of the Steve Morgan Foundation, who presented the cheque to Pauline Connolly, the Chair of the Vauxhall Community Law & Information Centre, said: “We could see that the Vauxhall Law Centre provides a very valuable support service to the local community, many of whom are coping with difficult circumstances, and are delighted to be able to help such a worthy charity.”

Pauline Connolly thanked the Morgan Foundation for the generous grant to the Law Centre and said: “This donation will assist with providing financial security for the Law Centre, which has been servicing the community of Liverpool for over four decades. It is highly appreciated, not only by the Law Centre & VNC, but the community on the whole. The support provided by the team over the years has been greatly appreciated and the funding will allow the team to continue their excellent work in the future”.
